Steamed Dim Sims



Preparation: 10min  › Cook: 20min  ›  
Ready in: as soon as they’re cooked.

Directions
  1. Each child to wash hands.
  2. Recap last week’s recipe. Ask if anyone tried it at home?
  3.  Introduce the Recipe of the Day.
  4.  Go over Safety Tips.
  5. Ask the kids to read the recipe as a group.
  6.  Have a member of the group start to grate carrot.
  7.   Ask the other group members to cut up any other vegetables provided.
  8. Cut up the cabbage (if required).
  9. Measure out the rest of the ingredients into the bowl.
  10. Tell the children to bring their ready bowl to the fry-pan, for the group to cook, watch out how the items will cook down.
  11.    Select a member of the group to bring the mixture back to the table.  Each child to set out 4 won-ton papers.
  12.  Bring the next group of kids to the fry-pan.
  13. Show each group how to place the mixture onto the wrapper and seal the edges.  Each child to place their dim sims in the steamer.
  14.   Once the vegetable frying has been completed, wipe out the pan and fill the bottom with hot water and bring to boil.
  15. Each group will bring their steamer baskets to the fry-pan to be steamed.  Approx 7-8 minutes.
  16.  Group to clean their area while waiting and to put 2 sauces in the dishes.
  17. When completed, bring out the steamer basket, being careful to avoid the steam.  Rest the basket on the towel to drain slightly, then serve out the dim sims to each child in the group.
  18. Turn off the fry-pan, and remove the cord from the power point.
  19. Clean area
