Ingredients
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup (220g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125mL) golden syrup
- 125g unsalted butter, chopped
- ½ teaspoon sea salt flakes
Directions
1.
Grease a 20cm square cake pan and
line with baking paper.
2.
Combine condensed milk, butter,
sugar and syrup in a saucepan. Using spatula, stir over low heat until the
sugar has dissolved completely, scraping down the sides of the pan every now
and then to prevent burning.
3.
Bring the saucepan to boil slowly,
stirring constantly for about 12-15 minutes or until mixture begins to darken
in colour.
4.
Remove from heat and allow all
bubbles to subside.
5.
Pour into the cake pan and cool in
the fridge for about 30 minutes before sprinkling lightly with sea salt flakes.
6.
Refrigerate overnight before cutting
into pieces using a lightly oiled knife.
